1. Obtain Keys

Follow the official instructions here to obtain your API Login ID and Transaction Key. These will be added to your Bolt merchant account.

2. Add Keys to Bolt

  1. Log into the Bolt Merchant Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Payments.
  3. Click Add
  4. Input the following credentials:
    • API Login ID
    • Transaction Key
  5. Click Add

3. Set Up Dispute Coverage

You will need to create an account in your dispute management portal for Bolt’s team using for the email address.

After the account has been set up, merchants should email whenever new disputes arise. The email should include:

  • A Screenshot of the dispute notification from
  • The Bolt transaction reference
  • The disputed amount

4. Configure Risk Settings

For payments made with a card saved to a shopper’s account, Bolt does not transmit CVV match data to processors. Configure risk settings so the lack of this data does not trigger auto-declines:

  1. Go to the Account.
  2. Use the guide on CVV Settings to allow transactions that do not include CVV data.
  3. If you use the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite (AFDS), use the guide on Enhanced CVV Filtering to set any code that indicates there was not CVV data present to Allow.

If you don’t use Bolt’s Fraud Detection product, contact your fraud solutions provider to inform them that payments transmitted via this processor will not provide CVV match information.
