This article covers the types of fees that Bolt merchants may be charged and how they work.
Fees are a highly individualized aspect of a merchant’s contract agreement that depend on many factors such as the payment processing stack and unique blend of features in your implementation.

Fee Types
These fees are associated with the use of Bolt’s checkout experience. They may include the following:

Processing fees cover the cost associated with processing and authorizing a transaction through Bolt Checkout. They are often offered as a bundle with other Bolt products.

All-in fee that enables your shoppers to check out using their Bolt accounts. For merchants who only use Bolt for the logged-in part of their checkout experience, this may be called a bundled Bolt Account fee. |
A specialized pricing agreement that includes a combination of checkout, processing, and add-on services. |
If you use another payment service provider (PSP) or gateway for processing, consult your PSP account manager to determine any additional fees they may charge.
These fees cover the cost of Bolt’s add-ons and services that your store uses. They may include the following:

When Fees are Assessed
Bolt collects fees on transaction capture.
- Platform Fee & Network Fee: Calculated on the entire transaction amount and charged on the first capture of funds. You’ll pay the entire fee amount once per transaction.
Processing fees are charged on every capture of funds and scaled according to each captured amount. They might be charged multiple times per transaction if there are multiple captures.
- Bolt Payments Fee
- Bundled Pricing/Bolt Account Fee: Charged per transaction that registers a new Bolt account, and per logged-in transaction completed with Bolt One-Click Checkout.
- Fraud Protection Fee & Fraud Scoring Fee: Calculated on the entire transaction amount and charged on the first capture of funds. You’ll pay the entire fee amount once per transaction.
- Lost Chargeback Fee: Fixed-amount fee charged when a dispute is filed. If the dispute is won, this fee is refunded.
- Integration Fee: One-time fee charged during the implementation process.
Fee Refunds
Bolt collects fees on transaction capture.

Because voids can only be performed before capture, Bolt will not collect any fees on voided transactions and the merchant will not bear that cost.

Billing
For merchants using Bolt Payments, most fees are settled daily in your funding statements. One-time fees such as an integration fee will be invoiced via email.
For merchants using the gateway processing model, fees are invoiced monthly via email. Your merchant contract determines the period within which you must pay an outstanding invoice.
